I am at a loss for the right words to explain what San Diego county looks like right now. There is so much smoke outside it looks like dusk. When you breathe in you can taste ash....what is the ash from? some ones home, their memories up in smoke. It makes me want to cry thinking about the devastation so many families are having to go through right now. There are over 250,000 people evactuated so far, and counting. There are over 100,000 acres in the county burnt and there is no sign of containment anytime soon...this makes me feel sick to my stomach. The uncertainty. The knowing that people are losing everything. The unpredictability of the next few days...My girls and i are safe, yet prepared. please keep So Cal in your thoughts and prayers...please keep the fire fighters who are risking their lives for everyone, in your thoughts and prayers.
I took these photos a little while ago from the High School parking lot two blocks from my home. ***edited to add there is no more blue sky and sunshine...it is now gray and dingy. So Surreal!
Today in Aliso I saw a patch of blu and felt a little hope. I'm getting cabin fever with my 3 yr old and miss walk around the block. My heart also goes out to all those families that lost their homes not to far me.

Marah you were the first person I thought of when I saw the fires in So. California. I pray for everyone's safety but I cannot even begin to imagine what it must be like for you who live there.
Having just been there, seeing the beauty that is now gone, I am heartbroken. I can't fathom what you feel. I can only say I'm thinking of you and everyone else.
Please be safe.

Marah,
This looks so devistating--as I am sure it is to live through this! My thoughts and prayers are with you and the rest of the communities aflicted. Is everyone at CI okay? Are any of them in the fire or close to it?

It really is sad. I hope you and your family continue to be safe and free from the fire. We all need to pray for the families and the fire. I hope there is an end to it soon!

So sad. Seriously. I am praying for the fires to be contained. Fire is so strange and wild. Thank you for sharing the pics to give me in Washington State a good visual. Blessings to you and yours!

Hi Marah !!
it gives me the shivers to read your post bcos first: us too live in a prone area for bushfires and ...we're coming ahead of summer therefore bushfires...and heat but also my husband is a firefighter as well, so...it's always a worry.
i'll pray for you and all families tht it will be soon over.
